We would like to take this opportunity to explain to you
the program which this parish has adopted for
its financial support. Some time ago, in a
series of sermons, the parishioners were
introduced to GOD'S PLAN
--a modern adaption of the ancient biblical
practice of tithing.
"Generations of
Serving The Faithful"
Capital Campaign
+ Fall 2002 Minimum Goal: $750,000 We would like
to take this opportunity to thank you all who
have given so generously to the St. Joseph's
Capital Campaign. As of Monday, October 13,
2003, we have a grand total of of more than a
million dollars (Cash & Pledges). We are very
grateful for your participation. We anticipate
exceeding our goal of $750,000 in the next few
weeks due to the continued generosity of our
parishioners.
THE TREE OF LIFE -
PAYMENT METHOD The suggested gift plans
encourage financial commitments over a
three-year period. The pledge card provides
space for you to designate payment intervals:
monthly, quarterly, semi-annually or annually.
Payment reminders will be sent in accordance
with the schedule selected. We ask you to keep
in mind that it will take gifts at these levels
over 36 months to reach our goal. Pledges enable
you to consider a more significant contribution
to the campaign rather than a one-time gift.
What the Lord asks is not equal gifts but equal
sacrifice. If you haven't made your pledge yet,
please contact our Parish Office. Together we
can and we will accomplish our goal!
The Campaign has
already began, and it's starting to pick up
momentum. Some people have already made their
pledge. As of December 7th , we have over
$167,510 pledged, from 64 parishioners with
$38,765 cash on hand. Obviously, the more you
are able to give the more successful this
campaign will be, so don't think these levels
hold you back if you can give more, but at the
same time, if you just cannot give any of these
recommended amounts, we'll be happy to receive
whatever you can give. Every donation is
important and our real goal is to receive a
pledge from every family and whatever the amount
will be gratefully received. Please try to
decide what you can give before then. Collection
of the pledges will begin in January, so at
least you can get through the holidays. The
reason for our campaign is to establish a fund
that can be used to make needed repairs and
improvements to our parish complex here at St.
Joseph's. Not just right now, but in the future
too. It's a 3 year program (36months). Advent is
a time of preparation. Make a decision that will
help us prepare our parish for the future, so it
will continue to be a wonderful place of worship
and praise for generations to come!
Among the repairs needed: New flooring,
carpet/tile Updating the Confessionals Repair to
the floor in the Choir loft Pointing, painting,
etc. Replacing front steps and possible overhang
or Enclosure (providing protection, safety &
lighting) Repair of our parking lots (Church,
School, and Mission) Updating or replacing
electrical & plumbing needs Zoning of our
heating systems for more efficient heating
Replacement of a worn out air-conditioning
system Replacing the school roof In order to
accomplish our objectives, we are about to begin
Our Parish Capital Campaign. Our Church has
served you, your parents, and your children for
over 125 years. We want to preserve this
tradition and insure the next 100 years of
service. God has given us this beautiful gift of
our church and we can return this gift to our
community by preserving and refurbishing our
parish complex. This Sunday is COMMITMENT
SUNDAY, our 3rd In-Pew information.
Over the years, the
Parish of St. Joseph's has had a great
tradition of serving many generations of
faithful parishioners. There have been wonderful
achievements of faith and generous Christian
love. The buildings were built by people of
conscience and integrity to be used to spread
the word of God. However , time has its toll on
our buildings and it's necessary to do some
major repairs so that we can continue to serve
future generations. We will be honoring our
parishioners and donors for their generosity by
installing in the Church "The Tree of Life".
This form of recognition will create a memorial
enabling contributors to place the names of
family members and others they wish to remember
and to celebrate special events in their lives.
Please the Rectory at 338-1554 for information.
This Sunday is our 2nd In-Pew information.
